Pale Skies, Wild Grasses

Blue skies, earthy layers and delicate grasses create a landscape softened by light and memory. Whites and muted pinks meet a pale passage of light. Fine green, muted pinks and earthy red marks rise through the foreground, suggesting grasses against softly receding hills. I combine layered watercolour blends with oil pastel detail and thick layers of paint. Subtle shifts in colour and loose gestures capture the atmosphere of a landscape, leaving its location open to the viewer’s own interpretation.
